Join us for a weekend of immersive leathercraft education at Tandy Leather in Watauga, Tx. This workshop series blends hands-on skill building with inspiring demonstrations, offering something for every leatherworker, from those just starting out to experienced crafters looking to push their creative edge.
Across three days, you’ll explore foundational tooling, innovative design methods using AI, natural aging techniques, and bold new approaches to adding color without using traditional dyes or paints. Taught by Daniel Reach, each session is designed to give you practical, real-world techniques you can immediately apply to your own work.
Whether you join for one class or the entire weekend, you’ll leave with new skills, fresh inspiration, and a renewed sense of creative direction.
Concepting Your Work with Ai - Friday 4:30 to 7:30
Cost: $100.00 (Interactive class)
In this class, we will focus on how to use Ai to concept your work, create tooling patterns, and how it can make your leather crafting journey easier.
Adding Color to Leather (No paint. No dye) - Saturday 10:00 to 2:00
Cost: $100 (Demo Class)
In this class we will explore 3-4 color techniques that require no paint and no dye, while still creating vibrant color schemes.
Authentic Weathering and Aging Leather - Saturday: 3:00 - 6:00
Cost: $100 (Demo Class)
In this class, we will demonstrate techniques to take your projects from looking brand new to time worn and weathered.
Figure Carving: Octopus holding a swivel knife harpoon - Sunday 11:00 to 4:00
Cost: $135.00 (Each student will tool their own project)
In this class, we will focus on the swivel knife, beveling, petal lifting, and creating texture. (We will not be adding color to the project in this class.)
Tools the student should bring. (These can be purchased at Tandy if you don’t have them)
