Intermediate Leather Tooling: Compound Carving - April 26th
IN PERSON TOOLING CLASS:
In this all-day class, we’ll dive into compound carving, a technique that weaves together traditional tooling, beveling, inverted tooling, embossing, and extreme lifting to create a dynamic 3D effect. You’ll be tooling a maple leaf branch and leaves while learning bevel blending, a key step that brings depth and movement to your design. This is a true intermediate class, so students should have a solid understanding of the swivel knife and beveling. If you’re ready to push your skills further and explore advanced layering techniques, this hands-on session is for you. Let’s create something truly extraordinary!
We will be doing a smaller version of the project shown. Project will include 3-5 leaves instead of the dozen shown here.
Color will be added to project as a instructor demo if time allows.
